4 Common Mistakes In Optimizing and Blog Submission

April 27th, 2008 | 1 Comment | Posted in Blogging, seo

When we blog, we often do mistakes while optimizing our seo blog, especially new bloggers (like me) entering blog and internet world. SEO is like two-eyed knife, if we use it correctly can have excellent effect for our blog. But if we do it wrongly, the result will be horrid for our blog’s page rank, blog’s rank in search engine, or may even be considered as spam blog. So, to avoid these mistakes, I will tell you about these 4 common mistakes in submission techniques and blog optimization.

1. Using wrong keywords
The worst result if we use wrong keywords is that search engine and visitor will not find our blog. I believe that no one wants to have this situation ever happen on his blog, don’t you too? To avoid this mistke, we should do some keyword research about our blog first. When looking for keyword density, we can use several tools on the internet, which are:

- SEO Tools (Freeware)
Not only showing keyword comparison, SEO Tools also shows the combination of keywords phrases that are relating to find “Niche Market”

- Wordtracker
An excellent tool, however, the free version only shows MSN search result

- Google Adwords Keyword Tool
Of course, there are a lot more of free tools that we can use by googling

2. Too many Keyword in Meta Tag Keyword
Many of us bloggers have wrong a wrong idea about Meta Tag Keyword. They tend to put hundreds of keyword in meta tag keyword, by hoping of getting high pagerank for that keyword in search engines.

The fact, search engine will assume our blog a spam if the keywords are too many in meta tag keyword. Once we are hoping that it will go as top ten search result on google, can become our site not even showed in search engine.
Tips: make only adequate and relevant keywords with our blog, like 25 keyword

3. Too Many of Same Keyword Being Repeated
Search engines can detect a blog with too many repeated same keywords and they will not indexed that blog in their database.
So, we should avoid using too many keywords in each page, even if we have to, that keyword should have a meaning in the sentence.

Tips: don’t put a particular keyword more than once in meta tag keyword.

4. Using Text Color that Similar With Background Color
This technique often used by webmasters to trick search engines and make their pages rich of keywords. It is hard to repeat the same keywords in the same page without making them sounds odd for our visitors. That is why, this technique is used so repeated keywords can’t be seen by visitors.

However, now search engines can sniff this technique, resulting they will not do indexing our blog. Search engines consider these blogs as fraud. Therefore, never use this trick again because it will never work
