World’s Cheapest Laptops

Carapelli Ltd., an electronic company from Taiwan, has announced the cheapest laptop in the world. This laptop, Impulse NPX-9000 is the cheapest laptop in the world with the price of US$130.

The processor of this laptop is MIPS 400MHx, with memory as big as 128MB, and 1GB hardisk. Impulse NPX-9000 also provides dongle for wireless network. In addition, NPX-9000 also has SD card slot, VGA slot, 3 USB ports, MiniUSB, and 802.11g Wifi connection. Web browser facility and multimedia software are also installed. New MacBook Will Use Glass Trackpad

Seth Weintraub, writter from 9to5Mac has gave us a leak about the new MacBook which will be released by Apple. According to Weintraub source, this new MacBook will have some specs below:

• New MacBook will be thinner than MacBook and MacBook Pro that have been around with more rounded shape, similar to MacBook Air.
• Trackpad used is made from glass, multi touch and finger movement recognition. The screen is not multitouch (will this mean that MacBook will be touch screen)?

Wanted: A Cracker To Save iPhone

Apple products often become the crackers’ target. One of the hot target to break into is the 3G iPhone which is going to be launched. Instead of tracking the hackers trace and put them into jail, Apple has another interesting plan. The plan is that Apple is willing to work together with the cracker who can break into their latest smartphone. Apple then invites the cracker to join their company to be iPhone 3G security technician.

The first condition is that the cracker must have strong interests on the mobile technology world and can prove that their concept can break into iPhone, as quoted from Softpedia. An ex-crackers named Kevin Mitnick, who has changed his profession to a security consultant supports this idea to use crackers’ expertise to increase company security. That cracker’s expertise is of course more useful if it is used for positive things, rather than for them to do bad things in the internet world and end up in the jail.

Like a box office Hollywood movie, the success of Asus Eee PC has made its producer, which is from Taiwan, produce the sequel. This time, Eee PC 900 comes in wider screen, but still light weighted.

The sequel of Asus Eee PC has 8.9 inches widescreen, wider than the previous Eee PC which only has 7 inches wide. It also equipped with 1.3Mega pixel webcam, FingerGlide navigation system in the touchpad, and also 12GB storage for Windows OS based, and 20GB for Linux. The weight of this cool gadget is still less than 1kg.

Eee PC 900 uses Solid State Disk (SSD) as its storage media, which has the same technology that has been used in USB Flash Drive. Compares to hardisk, that use mobile component, SSD is believed to be saver from damages and errors because of shock. 8.9 inches screen size makes the screen resolution can be upped to 1024 x 600.
